January 2006 - March 2006

Description of Project:
FMIS (Fisheries Management Information System) was a sub-component under the STOFA (Strengthening of the Fisheries Administration) Component of the Fisheries Sector Programme Support (FSPS). The original objective of the FMIS sub-component was to “put in place a comprehensive management information system and related administrative procedures that support planning, decision-making and supervision within the fisheries sector”.

The review provided recommendations for the Inception Phase of FSPS II‘s Output 4: “The fisheries management information system continuing to operate and further developed under the STOFA in Phase II”. The review looked into ways and means of ensuring management and information coordination between the sub-components of STOFA II. The review also investigated the possibility of utilising the established information flows in the monitoring of progress of FSPS-II.
