Description of Project:
Eagle Lyon Pope are preparing a strategic port study for Western Africa and require information on fishing activities within the region and their potential port requirements.


Services Provided:
Poseidon examined the types of vessel and vessel numbers working the West African coast from Luanda in Angola to Port Gentil in Gabon. In particular, they determined:

a)The types of vessel, types of gear and general sizes of vessel used for
b) Deep water fishing
c) Coastal fishing
d) Artisanal fishing

and provided an indication of the numbers of vessels that may use the area in a year and the seasonal implications on activity.
