Description of Project:
Poseidon Aquatic Resource Management (Pty) Ltd, undertook a short scoping study to evaluate the processes that could lead to the establishment of management arrangements for the localised grey mackerel fishery, against best available evidence. In this context the Company reviewed scientific papers, and best available data, including catch information from local fishers and anglers. The research also included a review of State and Commonwealth legislation and the appropriate consultative process that should be applied to the fishery by DPIQ and GBRMPA . The consultant also developed a risk analysis profile for the stakeholder fisheries,identifying key hazards and impacts.
