Feasibility of establishing dedicated Food Parks in Grimsby UK

North East Lincolnshire Council and  - Project Dates:
March 2004 - October 2004

Description of Project:
The fishing port of Grimsby is currently undergoing something of a regeneration, with developments taking place within the town centre, the docks and in out of town brownfield sites. Food processing and service sectors within Grimsby are well represented with more than half of these businesses involving fish. The food processing businesses are dispersed throughout the town and the sector may benefit from a concentrated food park development. At the same time the nature of the outputs produced requires large-scale coldstorage.

Services Provided:
The study investigated the feasibility of establishing dedicated food parks in Grimsby, together with an examination of the technical restrictions on development was conducted along with an investigation of the environmental impacts, the demand for such a development, and the economics of development.
